Dakshina Karnataka Sunni Centre (DKSC), Mangaluru, was founded over 30 years ago by non-resident Kannadigas from the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, united by a firm resolve to serve as a support system for orphans and destitute families and to address illiteracy and poverty within the community. Just two years after its inception, DKSC laid the foundation for its flagship institution, Markaz Tha’aleemil Ihsan, in Muloor, Udupi district — beginning with only a handful of students. Over the past three decades, this modest start has blossomed into a large educational complex comprising around 20 institutions educating more than 2,500 students, and has nurtured numerous religious scholars, doctors, and engineers who now serve communities in India and abroad.
